A student being bullied at a Lincoln Middle School basketball game caught the attention of the basketball players. They walked off the court to come to defend her.

Problems

“All problems are imagined.” ~ Bryon Katie

Agree or disagree?

Is it the thing (whatever that thing may be) that causes us problems or is it our thinking about the thing that causes us problems?

If is our thinking, then can we not eliminate the problem by thinking differently?

If this is true, then do we imagine our problems?

Around Town: TStone Wrestlers!

Congratulations to two phenomenal wrestlers from Thomas Stone, Ryan Sharp (@N3VER_dull) and Big David Henderson. Last night, they both competed in the Maryland States — Ryan at 195# and David in HWT.

While this is only Henderson’s first year at wrestling, he placed THIRD in States! Wow — excellent job, David.

Sharp, meanwhile, continued his unbeaten streak and became the Maryland State Wrestling Champion. Congratulations to an outstanding athlete and all-around good guy.

Show-off Saturday: Malcolm Class of 2015

Show-off Saturday

I just finished an order of tees for Malcolm Elementary (@MalcolmMustangs) Class of 2015.

They wanted something that looked a bit like Minecraft. My boys love that game and I just don’t get it… The graphics are SO 1990’s and I just don’t get the point. (Boy, I sound old.)

Anyway, here’s the tee. What do you think?

Farrago Friday: The Absolute WORST Music Video

#FarragoFriday

Farrago: [fuh-rah-goh, -rey-] noun. a confused mixture; hodgepodge; medley

Tonje Langeteig – “I Don’t Wanna Be A Crappy Housewife” Me neither, Tonja. Me neither.

Where should I start with this video? The awful music? The idiotic lyrics? The foolish white rappers? The empty club?

Enjoy!

The most T-shirts worn at once is 257 and was achieved by Sanath Bandara (Sri Lanka) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 22 December 2011. The record was attemted on stage in front of a crowd of people in a public park in Colombo. Sanath was victim of the 2008 Weliveriya bombing in Sri Lanka and has attempted to break Guinness World Records ever since.

Your Turn: Least Intimidating Mascot?

#YourTurn

When I think of a sports mascot, I think of some snarling, mean beast that will rip your opponent’s arm off and beat him with it.

That’s not always the case…

Take the mascot of the University of Santa Cruz: the Banana Slug. It doesn’t really make me shake in fear. Disgust, perhaps, but not fear. And it is reading a book.

Delta State University isn’t too intimidating either. They are home to the Fighting Okra. Seriously?!?? #FeartheOkra?

Lastly, I present to you the Stamford University Tree. ooooh. Scary!

So, what is the least threatening mascot that you can think of?

Around Town: Henderson and Sharp Are Regional Champs

#AroundTown

Congratulation to two Cougar Grapplers, David Henderson and Ryan Sharp.

Henderson and Sharp are heading onto States after taking first in their weight classes in the Regional Championships. David Henderson took the top spot in the HWT class, while Sharp gained first in the 195 lb.

Congratulations to the newest members of the 1,000 Point Club!

From SoMDNews.com,

Four players from the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference hit the 1,000 career point milestone during their regular season basketball finales on Thursday and Friday night respectively.

Seniors Jordan Oakley (La Plata), Jordan Wood (Lackey) and Brendan Hempstead (Calvert) all reached the 1,000-point plateau in the same night Thursday.

Then Friday, senior Briana Hardee of the Westlake girls basketball team also accomplished the 1,000-point feat.

Congratulations to these four outstanding players!

Farrago Friday: 30 BAD Domain Names

#‎FarragoFriday‬

Everyone these days, it seems has a web site. And it all starts with a domain name. It has to be short, clever, memorable, easily spelled and should communicate your business message.

Easy, huh?

Well, here are 30 Unintentionally Inappropriate Domain Names.

Do you have a fav? Mine is Oldmanshaven.com

That’s NOT “Old Man Shaven dot com“; it’s “Old Man’s Haven dot com“.

Products and Presentation: Famous T-Shirt Statements

#ProductsandPresentation

The statement tee has always been around seems like, and in fact they’re making a huge comeback this fall. Everyone’s got one, but do you know how long it’s been since the first words were printed out on a shirt? They were replaced by iconic logos for a while before the words came back in vogue, as in “Frankie Says Relax”.
