Request your own e-store

When I first started in this business and a school wanted spirit tees and hoodies, I would print up hundreds of orders forms.

Each teacher would distribute the forms to their students.  Each student who wanted a tee would return their order form and cash or a check.  Someone in the main office would then have to collect all the forms and payments, make sure the totals were correct, and process the checks and cut a final check for all the tees.

What a pain!

Thanks to ever-developing technology, those days are long gone.

Now, if your school wants spirit tees, it is very easy for me to set up your very own e-store.  I will give you a PDF flyer that can be emailed to parents and staff.  Parents and staff can then shop online from the comfort of their own home.  They can pay with their debit card or credit card safely and securely.

When I deliver the orders, each order will be individually bagged with a receipt so you can see whose order it is and which homeroom or office that they call home.

If you want to run your sale as a fundraiser, let me know!  If you have certain products that are required, I can make that change too.

Here is an example of what it will look like:

CSM School of Nursing Fashionable Fundraiser

The 2020 College of Southern Maryland School of Nursing has begun.  Thank you to all of our future nurses and medical professionals, especially now in the midst of a global pandemic.

A portion of every sale will be donated to the School of Nursing.  Available in short-sleeve tees and crew-neck sweatshirts.

Sizing and product information can be found here.

Steve Jobs Said ONE Thing Separates Successful People From Everyone Else (and Will Make All the Difference In Your Life)

One simple decision — and one simple word — will never let you down.

Inc. | Jeff Haden

Steve Jobs. Photo from Getty Images.

Steve Jobs had extremely high expectations. He challenged himself—and the people around him—to work smarter, work longer, and work harder so he, and they, could accomplish everything they dreamed possible.

Jobs believed in the power of asking. Jobs believed the future was something we can all make our mark upon.

And maybe even more important, Steve Jobs believed in the fundamental power of belief itself—and of using that belief to motivate and inspire.

As Jobs said:

You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

One of the biggest reasons most of us don’t set out to achieve a huge goal is that we think we first need to develop a comprehensively detailed grand plan, one where every step is charted, every milestone identified — where success is preordained.

But because we don’t have that kind of plan — because creating that kind of plan is basically impossible—we hesitate. We need to see an end before we see a beginning.

And so we never start.

Jobs knew that plans are never perfect. Only in hindsight can they appear that way.

Here’s what really happens. People who eventually find success start by trying things. Lots of things. They succeed at some. They fail at others. They learn from those successes and those failures.

And along the way they seize and at times even create their own opportunities to advance themselves.

Want to start a business? Want to improve your health and fitness? Want to change careers? Determine the first steps. Get started. Keep going.

Most important, trust yourself.

Trust that you’ll figure out how to react and how to respond to roadblocks and challenges. Trust that you will become a little wiser for the experience. Trust that you’ll grow more skilled, more experienced, and more connected.

Try enough things, learn from every success and every setback, and in time you’ll have all the skills, knowledge, and experience you need.

You can never guarantee that you will always succeed, but when you never bet on yourself and try something new, you can definitely guarantee that you will never succeed.

Trust that the dots will someday connect. Believe that the dots will someday connect.

In the meantime, your life will be a lot more interesting.

And a lot more fun.

Service Dog Falls in Love with Donald Duck at Disney World

Seen in Yahoo News: “Nala, a 2-year-old service dog, has warmed countless hearts thanks to an adorable viral video of her cuddling with Donald Duck at Disney World.

“The video shows Nala putting her head on Donald Duck’s lap and closing her eyes in happiness while he gently pets her head. In the background of the video a woman’s voice can be heard saying, “She can stay here for the rest of the day.”

Way to go, University of Tennessee!

I love this story…

An elementary school teacher in Florida posted that her school was having a college colors day. One of her students told her he wanted to wear a University of Tennessee tee but didn’t have one. They discussed that he could wear an orange shirt to show his spirit. He told her every day leading up to it that he had an orange shirt that he was going to wear. So when the day finally arrived, he was SO EXCITED to show the teacher his shirt.

He took it to the next level and drew a design and taped it to his tee. He was so proud of his tee but, after lunch, the teacher noticed he was crying. He said some girls at the lunch table next to his made fun of his homemade tee.

The teacher wanted to get the student his own Vols tee and posted her story to see if anyone had connections to the University of Tennessee.

Well…. word got back to UTenn and they went above and beyond! They sent him a whole pack of Vols gear — tees, bracelets, water bottles, foam fingers, and more!

They even converted the student’s design into a tee and are donating a portion of the proceeds to the STOMP Out Bullying campaign.

(The shirt is at www.utvolshop.com — search for SKU #09216 — but the web site is getting a LOT of traffic and might be down or really slow.)

Team Spirit Tees gets (a little) political

La Plata, Maryland politics is starting to heat up and I was asked to make some stuff for the candidates.

First, I made some tees and caps for Jeannine James, the next mayor of La Plata…

Elect Jeannine James

And then I made some campaign tees for the next Town Council, Ward 3 — Emily Mudd-Hendricks:

A new day for La Plata!

Warrior Dash 2016

The Maryland Warrior Dash was held on Saturday, May 14 at Budds Creek Motocross Track. It was a sloppy, muddy, fun mess this year!

I ran it with my kids (Emmy, Adam, and Mitch), a family friend and her son. We named ourselves Team That’s What She Said! and I made the custom tees with some hot pink tees from Anvil.

St Jude’s Warriors: Thanks for Donating!!

WarriorDash_LogoWe had an absolute blast at the 2015 Warrior Dash in Budds Creek, MD.  I am really glad that I trained for it; otherwise, I don’t think I would have been able to run all the hills.  And there were a LOT of hills!

A couple Lessons Learned:

  1. Next time, we need to get there a lot earlier.  I didn’t anticipate the problems we had parking and then the long walk to registration.  We were scrambling to get to the starting line — I felt like I had already run a 5K!
  2. Getting an early run time is smart.  By the time we were leaving, it was getting hot and steamy.  I’ll bet the mud pits were pretty gross by then.
  3. Sunscreen.  ‘Nuff said.
  4. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
  5. Fundraising for St. Jude’s was smart!  The private showers (while small) were wonderful.  Definitely, bring your own soap/shampoo/body wash because they don’t give you much!

Here are some pictures — I’m not sure why they didn’t have any of Adam.  And I couldn’t find the three of us posing afterwards.  🙁
